Curriculum

Most courses are offered at two levels, some including Honors and Advanced Placement. Students are placed in courses that best suit their background and ability, and it is not unusual for students to have an academic schedule that includes courses from different levels.

Participation

90% of our students participate in more than one extracurricular activity such as clubs, student government, and sports.

Community Service

Every student participates in school-wide community service activities. A myriad of community outreach programs also exist for individual and small-group participation off campus, incuding: the Humane Society, Beach & Park Cleanup, City Civic Functions, Various Food and Clothing Drives, and The Fairchild Challenge.

Learning- Through-Travel Programs

High School students are given the opportunity to participate in a 10-day foreign travel experience every spring. Over the past few years, students have traveled to England, France, Greece, and Italy.

During the school year, all students participate in field trips. The trips are planned for educational enrichment and for social activities. Students have participated in trips to Monkey Jungle, snorkeling in the Florida Keys, Miami Seaquarium, St. Augustine, Cape Canaveral, Everglades National Park, Duck Tours, Parrot Jungle, Museum of Science, Florida History Museum, and MOCA, Grad Nite at Universal Studios, Disney World, Islands of Adventure.

Facility Improvements

Over the last 5 years, Allison has invested more than $100,000 in physical plant upgrades to better serve the academic and athletic curriculum.
